Teaching computer skills in classrooms without individual devices has been very challenging. This was a great activity to do with all grade levels. I was able to adjust this to use with my kindergarten students all the way through 5th grade. Being able to personalize their laptops made the activity fun for them. I enjoyed seeing their creativity on the desktop and browser screens.

My students enjoyed seeing what was inside a cb. I had an actual cb taken apart for them to look at while we put the paper one together.

Such a great way to learn about the insides of a computer. The best part was that each student was able to take it home and play with it. I shrunk the pages down to half size since I have 125 students. Also, there were several students who are not scissor ready so having sets of precut pieces was key. Each child was given the chance to cut but if the pieces were really mangled, I gave them good ones to glue down. It was tons of fun.

I used this during distance learning — but we send home worksheets and materials to the students every two weeks so this was still a hands-on project for the students, not digital. It was a great project for the students. They loved “building” their own computers and it helped them visualized the inside components of the computer as well. This was a project for my kindergarten technology classes. I will continue to keep using this.

Great product! Due to covid, my students do not have access to technology. With this product, my students continued to be engaged.

Our school’s network is down due to a cyberattack and I needed quick and easy computer science lessons and this was perfect! I have students for 40 minutes a day and this activity spanned 3 days. The students have had so much designing their own computer and also learned about the basic parts inside their computers. They can’t wait to take them home! Great resource!
