Teacher note: this lesson needs a partner class in another town, state, or country. Ways to find one: a teacher friend, a sister school, or a virtual exchange program (check each program’s privacy terms first). Students do not need accounts, and no student names or photos are shared. Homeschool: connect with a co-op group or a family in another state.

Session 1: Get Ready

Where does our partner class live? Find it on a map with your teacher. Is it near us or far away?

  1. With your class, write three facts about us. What do we like to do at recess? What is the weather like here?
  2. Write three good questions to ask the other class. A good question can’t be answered with just yes or no.
  3. Your teacher will post the facts and questions on a class Padlet or a shared slide.

Session 2: Connect

Meet the partner class on a live video call, or read the Padlet posts they shared with us.

Make a chart with two columns: Same as us and Different from us. Add what you learned to each side.

Exit ticket: tell one way the other class is the same as us and one way it is different.

Early Finishers

Done early? Think of one more question to ask the other class, or pick an activity from the Extras tab.
