Funding request letter

Subject: Request to fund a K-5 technology curriculum for [School Name]

Dear [Principal’s Name],

I’m requesting funding for the K-5 Technology Curriculum by Brittany Washburn for the [2027-28] school year. It would give our students a consistent, year-long technology program across all six grades.

What it is. More than 200 teacher-led lessons and activities, sequenced from kindergarten through 5th grade and built for one class a week. Each grade has a scope and sequence, an editable teaching guide, and student lesson pages that work on our [Chromebooks / laptops / desktops].

Why it fits our school.

  • It covers keyboarding, digital citizenship and internet safety, online research, coding and creative projects, the skills students need for online testing and classwork.
  • It’s aligned to the ISTE Standards for Students [and our state standards].
  • [Add one sentence about what you’re using now, or what’s missing.]

Student privacy. Students use one shared class login. No student names, emails, scores or progress records are collected, so there’s nothing for IT to roster and no student data to manage.

Cost. One building license is $162 per year and covers every teacher and every class in our school. With about [number] students, that’s roughly [$162 ÷ students] per student. A quote is attached, and the company accepts purchase orders.

Funding. This may qualify for federal Title IV, Part A funds, since improving digital literacy through technology is one of that program’s goals. [Our federal programs coordinator can confirm.]

I’d be glad to show you a sample lesson. Thank you for considering it.
